Edward Stewart- Exactly the same rate (EM2) Same length of
service, etc. (Mike, ED and I meet in boot camp and stayed together
our entire service time).. He worked for Solar Turbines in San Diego.
Solar made the engines for the "LCSR" (Landing Craft
Swimmers Recovery) that were assigned to BSU-1 in San Diego. They
never really worked (jet engines on a boat for gods sake!), kept
blowing reduction gears and impellers and fuel rings... Anyway, Ed
went to work for Solar, eventually becoming a VP in Field Service. He
passed away in 1995.
Ed had one tour in DaNang and one tour at our rework facility in
Subic Bay.
